We can help with aggression, house training, anxiety, fears, phobias, puppies, rescues, barking, jumping, pulling on the lead, recall, doorway manners, problematic behaviour as well as everything else in between!
Most of our work takes place in the comfort of your own home, or a location of your choice. The service packages we offer, and standard rates of pay, are listed below.
Service package 1: this includes an initial consultation to talk through the behaviour issues and implement practical solutions, plus a follow-up session a few weeks later to support you further and to track progress. Both sessions last for 2 hours.
Service package 2: this is a full training day, beginning with a consultation and observation, and then we’ll implement a behavioural modification plan as well as demonstrate practical solutions. The day lasts for 6 hours.
Service package 3: these are one-to-one sessions, mainly to check-in and support you and your dog on an ad-hoc basis. These sessions can be requested only after completing either service package 1 or 2, and usually last for 1 hour but they can be longer if needed.
If you’re thinking about getting a dog or a puppy, you could combine packages 1 and 3. Meaning you’d have a session before their arrival, a session after and then a final session for their first walk with you. The goal here is to set you and your new friend up for success, and build the foundations of a united and healthy relationship.
Approach
Prior to meeting in person, you’ll be asked to complete a background questionnaire. You’re encouraged to complete this honestly and to the best of your knowledge to help bring us up to speed with what you need help with and what you’d like to achieve.
We aim to arrive fully briefed and prepared with a rough idea of the best course of action. This means we can spend more time observing the behaviour, talking through what might be going wrong and demonstrating practical solutions.
First meetings can be a lot to take in, which is why you’ll receive a full written behaviour report sent via email, including all the training, advice and discussion points raised. If needed, further meetings are followed by a brief summary, also sent via email. At no extra cost, you can contact us outside of scheduled sessions if you have questions or to share some progress.
Remember that we want to work with you, not against you. Using natural, positive and enriching methods, we’ll always act respectfully, behave with integrity and advise you honestly.
Ethos
We strive for happy dogs and confident owners. To do this, we work with you to tap into what instinctively motivates, drives and encourages your dog, because dogs are at their optimal level of learning capacity when they’re motivated.
Although there’s no hard-and-fast timeline for how long training or behavioural modification takes, we usually recommend 2 to 3 sessions for the best results.
We work holistically and use positive reinforcement to encourage the behaviour we want rather than punish the behaviour we don’t want. Think of it like this, you wouldn’t sit in a restaurant and tell the waiter what dish you don’t want on the menu in the hope they just “figure out” what we want. Instead, you order the meal you actually want which ensures everyone’s happy and on the same page.
It’s not our job to just simply make dogs understand us or assume they do already, it’s our job to communicate with them and motivate them to make positive decisions in order to create unity, build relationships and ultimately ensure a happy home.
Payment
After our first meeting you’ll be sent an invoice and the behaviour report to refer to. For any further sessions we request that payment is made beforehand, so you’ll be sent an advance invoice a few days prior to any follow-up or ad hoc one-to-one sessions.
Service package 1: an initial consultation (2 hours for £45.00) plus a follow-up session (2 hours for £40.00).
Service package 2: a full training day (6 hours for £110.00).
Service package 3: a one-to-one session (1 hour for £25.00) to be requested, if needed, after service package 1 or 2.
We’ll travel to you but we’ll never ask you to cover our travel costs. What you pay for is our time, dedication, experience, knowledge and support.
