Code of Ethics
✔ We will do no harm. Our aim is to teach dogs with kindness and respect, in the best interest of the dog, their owner and the public.
✔ We actively promote force-free training methods with positive reinforcement, and fully reject methods and equipment that cause physical or mental pain and suffering.
✔ We will talk through behaviour issues, observe the family dynamic, recommend solutions and demonstrate practical training in order to help both our clients and their dogs achieve success. The goal is for happy dogs, confident owners and a happy home.
✔ We maintain and continue our own professional development through self-study, workshops, courses, seminars and conferences.
✔ We recognise our professional limits and will, where necessary, refer clients to another suitable practitioner if needed.
✔ With your consent in the background questionnaire, photos and videos of your dog may be used on our social media channels, on our website and for general private case studies. Your personal data and case file will be stored privately and only shared with another suitable practitioner or veterinarian with your consent.
✔ We will make every effort possible to protect and ensure the health and safety of our clients and their dogs. Participating in any activity with animals poses a risk, and so full responsibility should be taken by the primary dog owner.
✔ All dogs should be suitably protected from the potential risk of disease, illness and injury, as well as being registered with a vet, insured and microchipped. They must also be up-to-date with vaccinations and have a clear bill of health prior to any training commencing.
✔ Depending on the case, we may not interact with the dog initially with any form of attention or eye contact. This is not to be impolite, but rather to greet them respectfully and to avoid eliciting any negative behaviour.
✔ Unite Behaviour’s services are not quick-fix solutions, in fact no training or behaviour modification can be. We provide our clients with techniques and solutions to be worked on consistently in order for there to be a positive change.
